Nintendo has recently revealed that a brand new Direct showcase will air this week on September 4, 2019. The new Direct will highlight upcoming games, such as Pokemon Sword and Shield, as well as the upcoming sequel, Luigi’s Mansion 3. the showcase is said to last around the 40-minute mark, making it one of the longer Directs in the showcases history.

Of course, those won’t be the only games gracing the showcase floor as the Switch has a hefty line up of titles incoming in 2019 alone. While Astral Chain is the most recent title to hit the console lately, other titles such as Daemon X Machina, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, ports like A Hat in Time, New Super Lucky’s Tale and Ori and the Blind Forest are all expect to land on the Switch console by the end of the year.
There has also been a long-running rumor that Blizzard’s Overwatch may be heading over to the console which might be announced during the Direct. Of course, the popular multiplayer shooter may also be announced for the Switch during BlizzCon 2019 in November, so don’t expect it during the latest showcase.
The new Nintendo Direct showcase is slated to air tomorrow on September 4 at 3PM PT/6PM ET which you may view it at the Nintendo YouTube page. There’s still loads of other titles many players will be hoping to hear from, but I wouldn’t hold your breath as of yet. Titles like Bayonetta 3 should begin receiving some more spotlight considering PlatinumGames just released Astral Chain, as well as the incredibly anticipated Metroid Prime 4 – but the development of that title has been completely restarted earlier in the year, so that may be a little ways off.
Regardless, the new direct should include some exciting news of upcoming releases for the console that’s continuing to pick up steam in its third year. Who knows, maybe we’ll receive a snippet of information on the recently announced Breath of the Wild 2 title. Probably not, but we can dream.
