New Fortnite Update Adds ‘Hot Spots’ Loot Drops, New Limited-Time Modes

The latest update has just dropped for Fortnite and it brings some new features to the battle royale experience. While players have just recently ended their time with the John Wick 3 event, it seems an all-new basketball style update is also set to hit the game’s Creative Mode next.

The update also adds a bunch of new gameplay mechanics to the game, like the reduced find rate for Shadow Bombs and the combat shotgun, as well as unvaulted the semi-auto sniper rifle. A few other limited-time modes have also made an appearance, including Sniper Shootout Duos which sees players battling it out with only sniper rifles, Unvaulted Squads which is battle royale with only previously vaulted weapons and the combat heavy Close Encounters Squads.

Perhaps the biggest new feature arriving with the update is the new ‘Hot Spots’ addition. Taking a page out of Apex Legends (again), Hot Spots increase supply drops on randomly selected areas of the maps.

And finally, the new Creative Mode feature introduces the Downtown Drop limited-time mode. This new mode has players grinding down city streets replicated to look like New York City, launching off massive jumps and collecting coins.

Log in to Fortnite now to receive Update 9.10 and check out all of the new features added to the game.
