New Gameplay Footage of Link’s Awakening Revealed During Gamescom 2019

Nintendo revealed some extensive gameplay footage of the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening during this year’s Gamescom event. The new footage shows off plenty of new features hitting the upcoming remake, as well as a closer look at the dungeon creator mode debuting in Link’s Awakening.

The crisp and revitalized visuals are on full display throughout the entirety of the video, including some exciting looks at new features making their way into the release. The video from Nintendo reveals the new ‘map marker’ feature which will help players explore and navigate around the map. Players will be able to select specific locations on the map and add a marker to allow for an easier process when traveling from point A to point B.

Viewers also get an in-depth look at the unique Dampe’s Shack – the new feature which allows players to create their very own dungeons within the Legend of Zelda universe. Aspiring curators will be able to whip up their very own dungeon equipped with traps, enemies with unique patterns, chests and items and tons more. It’s a bit different from the traditional Legend of Zelda experience, but one that is sure to bring out some interesting designs and concepts form the die-hard Nintendo community and Zelda fan base.

The original Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was initially released all the way back in 1993 for the original Game Boy with the remade release revealed back in February during a Nintendo Direct showcase. the game also received a re-release back in 1998 for the Game Boy Color titled The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX. Link’s Awakening is set to release exclusively on the Switch on September 20, 2019.
