Firefly Studios has just released a new hero trailer for MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures, a new IP from the British developer best known for Stronghold. The final form in a trio of transformations available at launch on Early Access, the Fire Nymph uses ranged attacks and her unique elemental type to dispatch the dungeon’s countless traps and minions.
Check out the new hero trailer of MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures, featuring some gameplay footage:
“Tactically your advantage in hero switching to the glass cannon that is the Nymph lies in the role she plays, as your sole ranged attacker and fire elemental” said Simon Bradbury, Lead Designer at Firefly. “Give her the room to manoeuvre and she will happily blast, burn and banish threats before they get anywhere near her! Add her type advantage into the mix and you can waltz through fire traps and melt icy foes where they stand. Just avoid the corrupting effects of poison-based traps and enemies, which sap her strength as a creature of the earth.”
“This latest MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures trailer spotlights three of five special abilities the Nymph must unlock during the course of the game. Carefully selected for each hero before dropping into a dungeon, these are just a few skills players can choose as part of their unique per-character loadout. Fire Strike heats the ceiling of the dungeon before sending incendiary molten rocks crashing down onto unsuspecting foes. Multi-Shot is designed to deal with distant, weaker monsters with a spinning attack that sends out a flurry of conjured fireballs which auto-target the nearest enemies. Finally Inferno charges the Nymph’s elemental powers to their peak before dispatching all nearby minions with a powerful but costly area of effect blast.
As with the Rabbit, Ice Ogre and other heroes released both during and after Early Access, the Fire Nymph’s powers can be strung together with those of other morphs for maximum effect. Players will need to customise their loadouts, switch between heroes at the most opportune moment and manage cooldowns to survive and conquer each dungeon.”
