For those non-speaking Japanese fans, the video gives a solid run-down of some new battle mechanics and new activities found in Kichijoji. The video explains a new battle technique called ‘Show Time’ which occurs when the player deepens the Confidant bond with a fellow Phantom Thief, the ‘Baton Touch’ ability now has the option to become more powerful the more you play darts which can be played in Kichijoji and new special accessories have been added which provide new special skills to be performed.
The video also reveals the new ‘Rag Shop’ found in Kichijojo which allows players to trade in found armor for points, new activities such as Darts, Billiards and the Jazz Club can allow deeper bonds between Phantom Thieves which may provide new effects and buffs, and there was confirmation that while the main story of Persona 5 will remain unaffected, a new “episode” of the story will be told due to various changes in the expansion.
Persona 5 Royal is set to release on the Ps4 on October 31, 2019 in Japan with a western release slated for sometime in 2020. We can expect to see the next Morgana’s Report video (#4) to be unveiled next month.
