According to CBR reports, Colin Moriarty, a video game podcaster and former IGN editor, recently suggested that Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, might be producing a new Ratchet & Clank game for the upcoming PlayStation 5.
If Moriarty’s claims are true, the developer has worked very quietly, the game will have high chances to be a PS5 launch title, the game would release before a sequel to Spider-Man.

“We’re going to get a Ratchet & Clank in-between [Spider-Man PS4 and its sequel] on PlayStation 5,”…“I feel like that’s going to be a launch game, the Ratchet & Clank game that’s long been in development at Insomniac.” Colin Moriarty.
Developer Insomniac Games has been recently acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The developer has produced some of the most cherished PlayStation exclusives, from Ratchet and Clank games and Spyro the Dragon, to the more recent the Resistance series.
The Ratchet & Clank series began in 2002, the first game launched for the PS2, the latest release was a 2016 remake of the original game. If Colin Moriarty is right, and the Insomniac Games are actually producing a new Ratchet &Clank game, it would be a very nostalgic move as it would be the first game produced by the developer since it was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Sony has not officially announced any of the launch titles for the PlayStation 5. But a several rumors points at a February Reveal for the PS5, so it’s possible that more information from Insomniac Games and the Ratchet and Clank franchise might be revealed soon.
Colin Moriarty is not know for starting rumors, considering this, he might have received the information from an insider. But this information is extra-official and should be still be taken with a grain of salt.
