New Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Beta

A brand new beta period for the upcoming Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion has been announced by Capcom. As the final beta before the expansion’s official launch, players will be able to dive back into the previous hunts from recent betas, along with a brand new hunt featuring the Elder Dragon, Velkhana. The beta is available now for PS4 players and will last until the end of September 1, while Xbox One players will be able to hop into the beta on September 2 and run until the end of September 4. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is set to release on September 6, 2019 for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Overwatch on Switch Seemingly Leaked

A new accessory for the Switch from acclaimed third party peripheral company PowerA has leaked on Amazon, and it showcased a brand new Switch carrying case sporting an Overwatch theme. While the multiplayer shooter from Blizzard has yet to be announced for the Nintendo console, it now seems pretty likely that Overwatch will be heading over to the Switch. Especially considering the aforementioned Amazon listing has since been removed. We’ll most likely hear an announcement from Blizzard during this year’s BlizzCon 2019 event in November.

Telltale Games Revived by LCG Entertainment

Telltale Games has officially been revived thanks to the efforts of LCG Entertainment. Telltale announced its closure last year upon some financial troubles, but it seems the studio is making a comeback with much of the original talent back on board. We’re also expecting new game announcements as well as resurfacing their back catalogue in the coming weeks from the illustrious episodic collection of IP from the beloved studio.

Aladdin and The Lion King Classics Receive Remastered Collection

Nighthawk Interactive and developer Digital Eclipse have officially announced a new remastered collection of the vintage Disney titles, Aladdin and The Lion King. The original games released back on Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo back in the 90s, but now fans will be able to dive back into the classic titles on modern consoles with full 1080p support and new features. We can expect to see Aladdin and The Lion King Remastered Collection land on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC this coming fall.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon Announced

Sega has announced the official title along with the first trailer for the next installment in the main Yakuza series. The seventh numbered entry in the long-running series is called Yakuza: Like a Dragon and stars Yakuza Online’s protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. The game will feature a variety of changes, including the series’ well-known combat mechanics. The Japanese release date for the game has been revealed for January 16 with a western release slated for sometime later in 2020, coming exclusively for the PS4.

New Resident Evil Announcement Incoming

Capcom teased a new Resident Evil announcement with a teaser website launching earlier this week. The website has the slogan “Project Resistance” across the homepage, but so far nothing else – other than a few pulled screenshots – has been revealed on the new game. Capcom will be unveiling the new project on September 9 along with a showing of the game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show which runs from September 12 through the 15.

Another Doom 64 Leak Spotted

A potential port for Doom 64 has again been spotted this time coming from the Australian Classification website. A previous leak was spotted for the game earlier this summer which pointed toward a port releasing on the PS4 and PC, while the latest simply states the game as “multi-platform”. As for now, Bethesda has yet to announce a port or remaster of Doom 64 for any console, though they did surprise release the original Doom trilogy on modern consoles earlier this year. Stay tuned for more on the potential leak as we shift closer to the upcoming release of Doom Eternal this coming November.
