New Sly Cooper and Infamous Leaked

A new Sly Cooper and a new Infamous title have been rumored to be in development. Posted on Twitter yesterday, AccountNGT claims that both titles could be announced at a Playstation event that is speculated to occur this month.

AccountNGT does have a pretty credible track record when it comes to his reports, revealing details about Star Wars Eclipse days before the official announcement, and more recently called the Fantastic Beasts trailer delay before it happened. Credibility aside, it is still wise to take his reports with a grain of salt, as they still are just rumors. The popular leaker has previously claimed that a number of Playstation IPs could be making their return this year, and now has given us names of two of the possible IPs – Sly Cooper and Infamous.

Sly Cooper was a popular platform stealth series in which you play as the titular Sly Cooper, an anthropomorphic raccoon descended from a long line of master thieves. Together with his crew, Sly performs elaborate heists all over the world, often bringing down large organised crime groups. The first in the series, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus was released on Playstation 2 in 2002. The series hasn’t seen an entry in almost a decade, with the fourth and currently last release being Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time which came out in 2013.

Infamous is a more recent series, with it’s latest entry Infamous Second Son being released as a launch title alongside the PS4 in 2014. Infamous is an action adventure platform series in which you play as a “conduit,” which is a human with superpowers that you can use in a variety of different applications. Perhaps the most fun aspect of the game was traversing the city, which saw players running up the sides of buildings. Infamous includes three main games, a few spinoffs and a DLC prequel. The return of the series was also previously rumored to be announced at a previous Playstation event, but unfortunately was nowhere to be seen.

Both Infamous and Sly Cooper were developed by Sucker Punch Productions.
