The iconic beat em’ up is making its return with Streets of Rage 4 poised to take players back to an age of simplicity and side-scrolling brawls. The first new title in the series in 25 years looks to bring flashy new visuals and some brutal new moves to the table with all of that, and more, being shown off in the all-new gameplay teaser trailer.
Check out the nonstop relentless arcade beat em’ up action in the new Streets of Rage 4 trailer below:
To many longtime fan’s delight, the trio of developers working on Streets of Rage 4 – Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games – are looking to keep the game true to its side-scrolling roots. The new visuals add some flare to the experience, but the game appears to control very similar to the original Sega trilogy.
It’s great to see Axel and Blaze teaming up to take on the baddies that fill the streets once more, but there also seems to be other characters that have yet to be revealed. With smooth hand-drawn visuals strung together with a beat-pulsing soundtrack, Streets of Rage 4 is looking like a quality return to the series.
Streets of Rage 4 currently has no release date as of this writing. There has also been no official word on which platform(s) the game will release on.
