r has been a hot topic in the least couple of weeks, information about a survey and Duracell deal that allegedly forced Xbox to stick with removable batteries went viral. Now Xbox’s marketing team has taken the opportunity to announce a new Xbox Series X|S controller called Pulse Red. The new controller features a texturized dot pattern on triggers and numbers, the D-pad has also been redesigned to prevent slips.

Navin Kumar, Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft revealed the new controller and explained more about the newly redesigned features of the next-gen Xbox controller.

Along with Carbon Black, Robot White, and Shock Blue, Pulse Red features a “vivid, fiery-red top case and crisp, white back case, the new Pulse Red controller brings the same energy and equally striking color as the Shock Blue. Contrasting the Pulse Red color are the matte black triggers, bumpers, and hybrid D-pad.

The new control also features Dynamic Latency Input, a technique that allows the controller to delivers inputs more frequently to the Xbox Series X|S, potentially allowing for a more responsive gaming experience and seemingly instantaneous action.

The controller’s buttons, including the new Share button, can be custom mapped just the way you like using the Xbox Accessories app. Set the Share button to capture screenshots, start/stop recording, or even to record what just happened, then share your best, worst or funniest moments with friends and followers right from the console dashboard or your Android phone with the Xbox app for mobile.

Following the recent survey that asked Xbox users if they would like to see more of the Dualsense’s technology implemented in a new Xbox Series X|S controller, it was reported a patent filed in 2019 in which, Microsoft registers its own design for adaptive triggers.

Similar to Dualsense’s technology, the new Xbox Series X|S controller will use a motor-driven force-feedback trigger configuration that enables the user-perceived state of the trigger to be dynamically adjusted depending on the game.
