According to an alleged insider, Ubisoft is already working on the next Assassin’s Creed game which is scheduled to launch sometime in late 2022.
Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.
Assassin’s Creed: Warriors will be set in Japan during the Edo period, it will have a female protagonist and it would be a significantly smaller title compared to Assassin’s Creed Rogue.
Here is the information “leaked” by the anonymous insider:
Back in October 2019, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that Ghost Recon Breakpoint had not met the expectations, the company announced a change in the publisher’s editorial team, the team delayed some of its AAA releases, such as Immortals: Fenyx Rising, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs Legion, and more recently, its remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
It’s very unlikely that Ubisoft will surprise media and fans with a new Assassin’s Creed two years after Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, especially when the company is working hard with several projects and has been decimated by the departure of several key members of the executive team.
Ubisoft is currently producing an open-world Star Wars Game for Lucas Film Games, the new game is being produced by Ubisoft Massive, the project will be built using the Snowdrop engine with Julian Gerighty being the Creative Director.
Ubisoft has confirmed the development of the next Assassin’s Creed game with the support of Tencent, the game will release for iOS and Android in 2023.
