Nintendo Releases Animal Crossing: New Horizons Commercial

Nintendo has just released the new commercial for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In this commercial we can see Tom Nook showing an audience of animals life in a deserted island.

Take a look at the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Japanese commercial below:

Originally scheduled for a 2019 release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was delayed, as Nintendo wanted a more polished experience. Nintendo revealed a lot of information about Animal Crossing: New Horizons at E3 2019. Fans can find all the reveals and new features here.

In this new installment, Tom Nook is selling tickets for travel to a deserted island. Players won’t move into a preexisting village and it’s likely that they will be able to choose a layout of the island to better suit their liking. In addition, a smartphone was added to the main character; the “NookPhone” will add new features, such as Nook Miles, which will allow players to complete objectives for Nook and get rewards. Another big addition is the DIY recipes; players will be able to craft tools in the game, which will enhance the customization of the town.

Created by Katsuya Eguchi, better known as the designer of Super Mario 3, the series is based on “Eguchi’s experiences.” According to Mental Floss Magazine, when Eguchi was 21 years old, he decided to move from Chiba where he was drawn to Nintendo’s HQ in Kyoto. “Eguchi wanted to recreate the feeling of being alone in a new town, away from friends and family.”

The Animal Crossing series has already come a long way, as it was originally planned for the cancelled N64 Disk Drive add-on. The game released in Japan under the name Animal Forest and it was available in a standard cartridge. It got later a worldwide release with the Nintendo GameCube console and soon became a hit for players of all ages.
