Nintendo of America has recently renewed its Banjo Kazooie’s license and this has all the fans of the beloved adventure platformer awaiting for the next move of Nintendo, it could be just the intention of the company to sell merchandise and music of the game, the most popular idea fan’s ideas connects this move with a very possible release of Banjo and Kazooie to the next installment of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and what isn’t probable but is wanted by all is a remake or a new release of the original game released 20 years ago.
“To add more to this theory, a supposed leak of the game’s roster was revealed recently. The leak included a lot of believable character picks such as Mach T from the F-Zero series as a Captain Falcon echo or Shadow the Hedgehog as a Sonic echo.
The one important to this topic, however, was our buddy, Banjo Kazooie being in the leak. Now while the authenticity of this revelation can be questioned, the trademark renewal adds more weight to it. Because this can’t just be a coincidence right? Questions will be answered this December when Smash Ultimate releases for the Switch worldwide.
Another theory gaining traction surrounds rumors of the upcoming N64 Classic which is believed to be on the way because of the success in the wake of the NES classic and SNES classic.
Assuming this is the case, of course, Nintendo would want to bring Banjo Kazooie back with the retro console. For both old players to relive their nostalgia or new ones to catch up on what they missed out.”
Originally was originally planned as an adventure game named Dream for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, later, when Banjo-Kazooie’s development started for the N64 was designed to appeal to players of all ages. The game went to become a critical and commercial success, it sold two million copies just in the United States. It’s praised for its detailed graphics, immersive sound, and intricate level design. Back in 1999, Banjo Kazooie received two awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences: Console Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Art/Graphics.
