Rumors have been abounding about the potential of follow up the popular Mario + Rabbids game that took the world by storm back in 2017. Well, today it would seem that Nintendo accidentally updated their store, confirming, that yes, Mario + Rabbids 2 is indeed real.Today the Nintendo store added the game to its roster of upcoming games, under the official title, Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope. According to the listing, that has now been removed:
Team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and their friends on a galactic journey to defeat a malevolent entity and save your Spark companions. Explore planets throughout the galaxy as you uncover mysterious secrets and compelling quests!
Build your dream team with three heroes from an eclectic roster of nine.
Take down all new bosses, along with some familiar enemies throughout the galaxy.
Rescue the adorable Sparks throughout the galaxy, who provide distinct powers that will help you in battle.
Unleash your heroes’ skills but be strategic as you dash your enemies, team jump on your allies, and hide behind covers.
While Mario is not a stranger to team-ups, often collaborating with one time competing mascot Sonic, the Rabbids were a strange team-up even for him. Ubisoft’s bizarre little creatures that serve as characters in mash-up mini-game-fueled games seemed like they might clash… Heavily with Mario and his friends. This however turned out to be not true. The two joined forces for an Xcom style, grid-based Tactical game that was actually pretty fun. The game lacks the depth of other games in the genre but honestly, that made it a great choice for games of all ages.No release date has been set for the game yet, but the Nintendo store listed it as a 2022 release. It could easily be announced at the Ubisoft Conference, as well as the Nintendo Direct. For a complete list of E3 events, check here.
