Nintendo has just announced new Nintendo Switch Pro controllers with a custom design based on the starter Pokémons from Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The controllers are now available for pre-order at Amazon. The controllers will be made available on February 14, 2020.
The new Nintendo Switch Pro controllers are manufactured by PowerA, a video game peripheral manufacturer known for its MOGA line of controllers, the are officially licensed by Nintendo and the Pokemon company International.
The official description of the new controllers reveals that the controllers feature motion controls, mappable advanced gaming buttons, and the standard ergonomic layout. The controller doesn’t support HD rumble, IR, or amiibo NFC, due to its limitation, it’s would not support Joy-Con only games.
The controller does not have an integrated battery, two AA alkaline batteries will last about 30 hours of gameplay, according to PowerA this might change depending on the gameplay. The controllers feature a “register at PowerA.Com”
Nintendo also announced the launch of a new special edition of Nintendo Switch with a custom design based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the special edition will be available on March 13, a week before the launch of the game. Nintendo’s official announcement read as follow:
Animal Crossing themed Nintendo Switch system will be available in stores at a suggested retail price of $299.99. The system takes design inspiration from the new game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons(sold separately), with lovely pastel green and blue Joy-Con controllers that are white on the back, white wrist straps and a white Nintendo Switch dock, adorned with images of recognizable characters Tom Nook and Nooklings Timmy and Tommy.
Prospective island residents that want to pre-order the system can do so at select retailers soon. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons game launches for Nintendo Switch on March 20 at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
