Subscription services in the video game industry isn’t something new. At least we remember it from early years of the current-generation with EA Access. However, great success of Xbox Game Pass during the recent years have become a good reason for other publishers and developers to launch their own subscription services such as Nintendo Switch Online which came to life last year in September and now has quite a bit of subscribers.
According to the news coming from Nintendo’s latest shareholders meeting, Nintendo Switch Online now has over 10 million subscribers before it even reaches the first year of its launch. The company promises that more contents will be coming to the service in order to satisfy the subscribers and gather more members to the greatly received service of Switch.
While the number seems to huge, still it didn’t reach the half of the number of Switch owners. Right now, more than 37.74 million people own Nintendo Switch, and the service has only reached almost 30% of this community. However, Nintendo hopes to see more players joining the service in the future
Nintendo Switch Online costs you $3.99 per month. The service allows you to play games online with friends, while providing some special offers at the store and granting access for a wide variety of NES games.
