Nintendo Switch Pro Suggested By Suikoden Creator

According to Suikoden’s Producer, Writer, and Director Yoshitaka Murayama, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will launch for next-gen devices, PS5, Xbox Series X and a next-gen Switch in 2022.

The existence of a Nintendo Switch Pro has been rumored for quite a while, fans expect that Nintendo offers a more powerful version of the current hardware to face the new generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. However, Nintendo has often explained that Nintendo Switch has been selling above expectations, and the Nintendo Switch Lite is selling more consoles than the original Nintendo Switch.

For this reason, the Tokyo-based company is planning to extend the lifespan of the current Nintendo Switch, they have no intention to create more powerful hardware as their vision is to support just one kind of platform.

While Nintendo’s stance seems logical for a console relatively new and that is selling very well, this kind of statement might be needed to protect the current sales of Switch Lite. Is uncertain if Murayama and Rabbit & Bear Studios are that close to Nintendo to know a secret like a Switch Pro edition.

As the Kickstarter page notes, a new Nintendo console has not been announced, but if and when it does, the game will be available on the platform, assuming the machine can easily run the title. If by release, there’s no word of the new Nintendo console, the developer will attempt to do its best to get the game on Switch or offer refunds to those who copped a Nintendo console version of the game via their Kickstarter pledge.

Interestingly, the link to Kickstarter is not working right now, something that adds fuel to the speculation of the rumored Switch Pro.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is the spiritual successor of the Suikoden series, the game is being developed by Rabbit & Bear Studios, a Tokyo-based studio founded by key developers for the Suikoden series.

Alongside Yoshitaka Murayama, joins Junko Kawano, Junichi Murakami, and Osamu Komuta. All veterans that worked in Konami for the Suikoden series. As reported by Gematsu, this will be the first time Kawano and Murayama work together in 25 years.
