According to the latest report from NintendoLife on Nintendo Switch ‘s production, the situation on the different manufacturing plants in Asia has improved significantly, shortage of new console Switch may be diminished in the following months.
The information comes via a Japanese outlet, Careerconnection in an article in which is explained that manufacturers are back to be operational at a high level of efficiency, the capacity is almost back at 100%. However is important to have realistic expectations, right now the demand for new systems is still overwhelming compared to the units being shipped to retailers.
Nintendo of Japan President Shuntaro Furukawa has talked about how COVID-19 could affect the Switch production, he expected that “prolonged problems will affect the product delivery plans”.
That statement is crucial to understand the situation in which, console manufactures are right now, for obvious reasons, Sony and Microsoft has a very optimistic statements, they often confirms that the next-gen consoles are certain to launch on holidays. However, there is nothing being discussed about how many consoles will be sold.

Addressing the impact of COVID-19 in the production of new Switch consoles, and warning that next fiscal year would see losses in software and hardware sales.
“We are not in a position to be able to produce the full quantity of units we actually want to produce,” … “That said, there are signs of gradual improvement, and so we anticipate that the impact of COVID-19 on production will subside to some degree by summer, and that the volume we will be able to produce throughout the year will align with our sales forecast units for this fiscal year.”
“But even so, we are gradually gaining experience in assessing what can and cannot be done remotely, and in determining how much progress we can make on the work we are able to do from home” …”Please be aware that the impact on game development in terms of both hardware and software may potentially increase as the amount of time spent working remotely increases.”
