Nioh was originally launched in 2017 and titled as one of the best Souls-like hardcore third-person action games. The success was huge enough that made the publisher to deliver the game on PC sometimes after its exclusive launch on PlayStation 4. Now, the same team is working on a sequel for it and the project was officially confirmed at E3 2018, but since then, we haven’t received any new data on Nioh 2 up until now that Koei Tecmo shared a bunch of new screenshots from the game, showing-off its giant bosses and tweaked enemies.
Based on the new images, the graphics and atmosphere of the game still looks same as the first entry. Nioh 2 is still heavily tied to Japanese culture and the country’s old sagas. While the developer didn’t reveal anything about the story and main character, it seems the gameplay is going to be as hardcore as the previous one. Here you can check out the shots:
I don’t if we will be playing as William once again or not, but if you notice, every shot represents a different character against the enemy, which might confirm that in Nioh 2 players will be creating their own hero to start a long-lasting journey. There also a female character in the shots as well.
No release date and no target platforms have been determined for Nioh 2 so far. Koei Tecmo has been really tight-lipped about the game since its announcement but the good news is you don’t have to wait too much to see the first gameplay footage of the game. According to the publisher, Nioh 2 will be presented in Tokyo Game Show 2019 from September 12 to September 15 with a gameplay trailer and probably the release date.
