During The Game Awards, No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games revealed a trailer announcing the upcoming fantasy game Light No Fire. The trailer shows several environments, players flying with dragons, several creatures, its procedurally generated world, and more. A release date and platforms have yet to be announced.
The game’s details via the trailer:
Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.
Hello Games founder Sean Murray’s comments on the announcement via VGC:
“What people don’t know is that for the past five years we’ve been working on something new. Something very different, something maybe more ambitious.
For No Man’s Sky we generated a whole universe of sparse-looking alien planets, and that wasn’t easy, but there’s something that’s much harder that we wanted to do.
For our new game, we want to create an Earth, something that’s varied, a planet that’s as varied as a universe.
Something bigger than Earth, something with real mountains – not video game mountains but mountains that are miles high, taller than Everest, that when you climb on top of them and look out you can see rivers, and canyons, and continents, and oceans.
The first real open world, something without boundaries, and we’re going to let everyone play in it together.
We’re super nervous but really excited. If people like it, this is a game I’d like to still be updating 10 years from now.”
