Hello Games’ massive space exploration-survival title No Man’s Sky from 2016 has seen huge leaps over the years, including two huge updates (the second – Beyond – is releasing later this week) and additional platform releases. However, as we’ve seen the game hit the PS4, PS and Xbox One, it seems one more platform may be on the horizon.
In an interview with Game Informer, Hello Games’ Sean Murray revealed some rather exciting possibilities for the game. While the expansive title has seen plenty of enhancements over the years, it may not be too late to see this procedurally generation space adventure land on the hybrid Switch console, allowing players to take their space endeavors on the go.
“I love the Switch. We’re obviously very focused on what we’re doing right now, but we have done a lot of work for PSVR to optimize the game. So I’d be interested to see what’s possible. But at the moment, we’re just very focused on what we’re doing right now.” – Sean Murray, Hello Games
No Mans’ Sky is currently gearing up for its next massive update, Beyond, which will interest a variety of new features, including VR support, online co-op between 16-32 players depending on the platform, mountable animals, multiplayer missions, cooking and recipes, a new Nexus social hub and tons more.
The game originally released back in August of 2016 and was met with a lot of criticism due to missing content and a lack of multiplayer. However, it is now considered to be one of the best comebacks in gaming and loved by many fans and newcomers alike due to massive amounts of updates that added new features and improved the game by a whole lot.
No Man’s Sky is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC with the Beyond update slated to launch on August 14, 2019.
