Fallout 4 mods continue to roll out, but graphics card company Nvidia has made one of its own, showing off the strengths of its graphics cards. The mod, called Vault 1080, adds some really impressive lighting and over an hour of new gameplay.
Check out their statement:
Think the end of the world can’t get any worse? Then NVIDIA’s high-quality Fallout 4 mod has some bad news – turns out that adding super-advanced lighting and shadows to a thermonuclear Wasteland just makes it scarier, moodier and more dangerous than ever.
Vault 1080 is an official NVIDIA mod, and as such packs a serious technological punch. Volumetric lighting features extensively – in ways not seen in the standard game – while shadows are more realistic and velvety than ever. This is thanks to HBAO+ and its control of ambient occlusion, which creates authentic depths anywhere a light source is blocked, no matter how small or fleeting.
The Vault 1080 mod isn’t available yet; it will be released during PAX West on Friday, Sept. 2.
Check out the Trailer:
“Players will be taken deep underground to the titular Vault 1080, where they will come into contact with a depraved and misguided congregation of dwellers who have embraced sickening means in order to survive. With over an hour of gameplay to be had in the new environment, the mod’s storyline will ask players to judge whether the monsters of this vault deserve salvation.”
