A surprise announcement from Obsidian Entertainment reveals that their upcoming new IP, The Outer Worlds, will also be releasing on the Switch. Even though the studio is now owned by Microsoft, their newest IP set to release later this year is also arriving on the PS4 alongside the Xbox One and PC.
Check out the new Switch announcement trailer for The Outer Worlds below:
While the announcement certainly is exciting for those Switch fans eager to try out the latest RPG from the creators of Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity (which also recently announced a Switch version), the Switch release of the game won’t release until sometime after the initial October release date on previously confirmed platforms.
The Switch version was confirmed to be handled by Virtuos who is the same team behind porting over FromSoftware’s Dark Souls: Remaster on Switch.
The Outer Worlds is scheduled to release on October 25, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. No release date has been announced for the Switch version but we’ll be sure to update once it’s announced.
