It appears the recent leaks of the once Switch exclusive JRPG, Octopath Traveler, were spot on as the title is now heading over to the PC via Steam. The news comes from a blog post from publisher Square Enix which has recently been deleted.
Last week, a Korean Ratings Board listed the old-school stylized title as a PC launch, but it seems we have official confirmation form the publisher themselves. While the initial post has been taken off of Square’s website, the post seemed pretty sure of itself that the JRPG was landing on the PC.
Check out the official announcement from Square Enix before the post was mysteriously deleted:
“We have some very exciting news for PC gamers. Octopath Traveler is coming to Steam on June 7, 2019! So, yknow, add it to your Wishlist now.
The critically-acclaimed RPG has previously only been available on Nintendo Switch, so this will be the first time non-Nintendo owners can experience the game.” – Square Enix
Square Enix is also in development of a mobile prequel to the young series titled Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent which has just recently surpassed 200,000 pre-registered since the title was announced just a short month ago. Along with the pre-registration announcement for Champions also came a reveal of a new battle music to be in the game. Check out the song below:
Octopath Traveler for PC is said to land on both Steam and the Square Enix Store on June 7, 2019. While all of this seems pretty accurate, stay tuned for an announcement from Square Enix – one where they don’t hastily delete the reveal and are ready to make it official.
