VR platforms are dominating headlines in the recent days, with bunch of new updated hardware coming to this part of gaming industry. After Valve revealed it’s anticipated Valve Index headset last night, now Oculus announced the launch day for both Oculus Rift S and Quest VR headsets that are the companies most high-tech hardware for the new generation of games.
According to the company, both of the headsets will be available on May 21st for $399, which is much more affordable than that of Valve Index $999 price. New set of VR platforms for from Oculus is now available for pre-order on the official website of the company.
Oculus Rift S is a new version for former Rift platform that features higher resolution displays and new optics to deliver the best experience possible for a PC-based VR headset. In Oculus Rift S, you will still need to connect your headset to a powerful PC via wired-connection. All the games that have been released for Rift, will be playable on Rift S with further enhancements and better quality.
On the other hand, Oculus Quest is a more comfortable headset for those who want to play games anywhere they want without any connection to other devices. Quest is a standalone headset that runs at its own and delivers a fast and easy experience in playing VR games, though not all of the games for Rift are able to be played on Quest. However, the wireless headset will get over 50 games at launch. Here you can check out the teaser for both headsets:
