Offensive Combat Redux! is Coming to Steam this Summer

SlapShot Games and Three Gates today announced that Offensive Combat Redux! is coming to Steam, the world’s largest digital distribution for PC Games, this summer.

The external beta testing phase will primarily help ensure that the gameplay and weapons are balanced, the maps run smoothly on low-end and high-end PCs, and the game is fun. The companies are looking for a mix of players from those familiar with the original Offensive Combat game, and those just interested in FPS games that have never played OC.

Offensive Combat Redux! is an irreverent, take-no-prisoners online FPS, with a variety of maps built for fast gameplay and varied play styles. The original game was free-to-play and featured numerous paid upgrades and accelerators that made the game progress quickly to the top levels with a wide variety of weapons in the game. Offensive Combat Redux! is building upon the great gameplay and familiar maps and bringing the game to a new audience. With dozens of weapons and pwns for showing up your opponent, Offensive Combat Redux! is a unique game amongst FPS titles.

Check out the Trailer:

Offensive Combat made waves for it’s irreverent humor and old-school sensibilities before being suddenly shut down in 2014, despite having a fairly dedicated following. While there isn’t a current console version planned, Three Gates AB is open to the possibility after Redux launches on PC. There isn’t a definite release date quite yet, but Three Gates is planning to put Offensive Combat Redux on the market in the next few months.
