According to a recent report from Digital Foundry on Eurogamer, the older 2013 launch models of the original Xbox One are failing to download and install the platform’s latest firmware update. The issue was reportedly originally reported on the NeoGAF forums. Digital Foundry discovered that these old consoles that have not been updated in a while are suffering from these issues, including consoles with firmware dating back to 2017 and 2018. This means that launch Xbox One consoles that haven’t been updated will no longer be able to go online or access Xbox Live until the problem is resolved. Xbox One S consoles don’t appear to be affected.
