The Japanese Nintendo eShop has updated making One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum demo available for download. The demo lets you play in the following modes: VS. CPU, Local Wifi and Training. If you enjoyed Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden then this is more or less that.
One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum is a game of two-dimensional fighting with combos and simple controls. It will have a mode where we can navigate the world and build a team with our favorite pirates, pushing up the price of our reward by defeating rivals.
Developed by Arc System Works, the title will include 23 playable characters and more than 80 fighters in support, plus a special mode that will allow us to sail around the world and to create a fearsome crew composed by our favorite pirates. There will obviously be the online component, thanks to which we can challenge many opponents in order to increase our reputation and aim for the top of the rankings.
Its Japanese launch is scheduled for September 21
Check out some gameplay footage:
“Pushing the Finisher button at the end of a combo will launch a Super Finisher move. When the Finisher Gauge is maxed out, it will become Rio Gigant Combo.
One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum also features “Let’s Make a Pirate Band” mode. The objective is to make the strongest pirate band. The more you take on challenges, the more you become stronger. Growth will be different based on the short story.
It’s up to the player to compose their own strongest pirate band. It can be played multiple times to further strengthen characters.”
