During the Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live event, publisher-developer Funcom announced Dune: Awakening, a new open-world MMO set in the Dune series. A release date has yet to be announced but the game is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. An announcement trailer was also revealed. In Dune: Awakening, players will “rise from survival to dominance in a vast and seamless Arrakis shared by thousands of players.”
