Square Enix revealed today that Outriders will launch on holidays 2020 after the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Outriders is currently being produced at People Can Fly the game is a co-op RPG shooter.
The development of the game started four years ago, the project is being led by former Epic Games’ designer Bartek Kmita, the Lead Writer is Joshua Rubin, the project was announced at E3 2019.

People Can Fly’s Sebastian Wojciechowski talked with PCGamesN and explains that the game won’t be a launch title for the next-gen system, but will shortly follow the consoles’ release.
“There is always a publishing schedule, and there’s always a schedule for hardware launch, so we had to feed into this,” he tells us. “The good thing is that we agreed with Square [Enix] that if you want to launch a brand new original IP, it’s always better to do it with the next generation of technology.”
Outriders
is an RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe. As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, players are tasked to create their own Outrider and embark on a journey across a hostile planet. Outriders is expected to boast rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, players will go through the slums and shanty towns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains and deserts in pursuit of a mysterious signal.
“It’s incredibly exciting to finally reveal what we have been working on for the last four years,” said Bartek Kmita, Game Director at People Can Fly. “Outriders is our first game since leaving Epic Games, and has grown from an idea of the game we always wanted to make, to the most ambitious project People Can Fly has ever undertaken”.
