D-Pad Studio has released a new trailer for the constantly pushed back indie platformer Owlboy, but they’ve also confirmed that the game that first began its development in 2007 will see release this fall on PC and other yet to be revealed platforms.
Here’s an overview:
Explore a vibrantly crafted pixel world in this flying adventure platformer. Being a mute, Otus struggles living up to the expectations of owl-hood. Things spiral from bad to worse with the sudden appearance of sky pirates.
What follows is a journey through monster infested ruins, with unexpected encounters, and burdens no one should have to bear.
Check out the Trailer:
“Following the journey of the young mute owlboy Otis as he struggles with maturity, sky pirates, and the unexpected, Owlboy is a love letter to old-school video games, as seen in the trailer. We get to see a variety of different areas, characters, challenges, and gameplay (including a heavy emphasis on flight, of course), all displayed with some truly breathtaking visuals. Owlboy is set to come out this Fall as mentioned for PC, but a more concrete release date will be announced at PAX West on September 5th, where the game will also be playable as part of the PAX Rising exhibit. It sure looks like a gorgeous indie bombshell indeed, so here’s hoping this eight-year story has a happy conclusion.”
