Hi-Rez Studios’ team-based shooter Paladins: Champions of the Realm is getting a closed beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Hi-Rez Studios has announced on the Paladins website that the game will be coming to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can also sign up for the closed beta right now on both platforms. The studio states that from the initial stages of development they were targeting consoles as a platform. They have ensured that Paladin‘s gameplay and mechanics have been tuned for these platforms as well. This should make for an easy transition to bring the game to Xbox One and PS4.
Check out the Trailer:
“Currently available as an Early Access title on Steam as of two weeks ago, Paladins hopes to capitalize off the recent success of games like Overwatch and Battleborn by offering a free-to-play version of a similar experience, featuring a varied roster of seventeen heroes. According to Hi-Rez, over a million people have checked out the pre-release version of Paladins so far, and that the console version of the game will stand right alongside “any big-time multiplayer shooter that you enjoy most on console”. This is a seemingly bold claim for a free-to-play game, and it will be intriguing to see how the console community reacts to the impending release.”
