PAMELA Open World Survival Horror Title Gameplay Trailer

PAMELA Open World Survival Horror Title Gameplay Trailer

NVYVE Studios, the Mississauga Ontario based micro indie development studio, has been hard at work on its ambitious title known as P.A.M.E.L.A. The studio recently published a brand new trailer that shows some gameplay of its pre-alpha build. Powered by the Unity 5 engine, this game is game is pretty ambitious because it is an attempt at creating dynamic open world survival horror experience.

There several aspects of this project that are quite intriguing. P.A.M.E.L.A. promises a nonlinear open world with gameplay that takes place withing the first-person perspective. The game is also offering RPG systems and character persistence along with an emphasis on collecting loot to enhance the character’s aptitude. This is all wrapped up in an aesthetics style rife with sleek and contemporary sci-fi trappings.

This ambitious undertaking is being done by a team of only six individuals; an insane fact when considering how the game looks to be shaping up so far. Visually, this game looks very impressive, and intimates how big this going to be on top of realizing its visual style. The trailer shows the main character’s awakening, as if being reborn into this world of desolation and ruin. It also shows a bit of the combat with the disease afflicted remnants of humanity and the character’s interactions with the self-aware AI being the titular P.A.M.E.L.A. The infected are very reminiscent of the hybrids in System Shock 2, but seem to suffer from the opposite issues the hybrids have in the classic game. With the character models of System Shock 2 looking terrible even back then, the scare factor came from the sound design of how they spouted dialogue and noises that were undeniably chilling. In this trailer, the afflicted humans simply groan and grunt, with the character models pulling the most weight in the horror department. This just a pre-alpha demonstration, so the sound effects are most likely not set in stone. Nonetheless, it looks as though the team has nailed down the overall atmosphere in terms of the game’s thematic goals. P.A.M.E.L.A. is currently slated for release sometime in the summer of 2016 exclusively for the PC via Steam.
