Today, Atlus revealed the eagerly anticipated extension to Persona 5 which has been teased since late last year. While last month they revealed that the expansion was titled The Royal, today Atlus released a new trailer for the add-on showcasing plenty of samples of what’s to come for the Phantom Thieves.
You can check out the Japanese gameplay trailer for The Royale below:
It appears The Royal will add a new district for players to explore, Kichijoji, as well as the newest member of the Phantom Thieves, Takuto Maruki. Players will meet the new character during the previously unplayable third semester of Persona 5, and will introduce players to tons of new content.
It seems there’s a new Palace to conquer in order to obtain the new Phantom Thief, new bars and hotspots to hang around and plenty of new story to add to the already deep narrative.
There will also be new date spots like an aquarium and theme park, a new character – Takuto Maruki – acting as a counselor for Shujin Academy who will reportedly work with the Phantom Thieves, new enemies to fight, and new events in the Velvet Room.
Persona 5 The Royal is slated for a Japanese release date of October 31, 2019, while a western release is set for 2020. Persona 5 Royal is exclusive for the PS4 and will feature PS4 Pro enhancements.
