Along with the new video footage also comes some new interesting bits of details for the upcoming expansion. Atlus confirmed that Goro Akechi’s Confidant will now allow players to progress through it at the player’s will, similar to most other Confidants in the game. The revamped Confidant will also come equipped with a new ability for the player, such as diagnosing enemy weaknesses at the start of battle.
A new character named Jose will be introduced into the game. Jose acts as special shop feature which has players trading in collected flowers and stamp pads found in Mementos for special and unique items, as well as changing various details in Mementos itself, like increasing the earned experience point total or the amount of money rewarded after each battle. It was also revealed that a new mission type will be introduced that sees players successfully negotiating with targets using information obtained by the in-game Phansite.
Other details revealed alongside the Morgana’s Report #4 video answered a few fan questions regarding the game. The biggest takeaways from the questionnaire noted that there is indeed a new Palace to conquer during the new third semester of the game. The video also addressed the PS4 Share feature and confirmed that players will be able to capture footage or screenshots in the game up until around mid-December in the game – right around when the new playable third semester begins.
Persona 5 Royal is set to release on the PS4 on October 31, 2019 in Japan with a western release date slated for sometime in 2020.
