Peter Fabiano Leaves Capcom after 13 Years

Today is a sad day for Capcom fans the world over. After 13 years with the company, Resident Evil producer and Global Production at Capcom, Japan founder Peter Fabiano announced on twitter he would be leaving the company.  “Hard to write this best so I’ve decided to keep it simple: Thank you everyone at Capcom for allowing me to grow together with you over the past 13 years,” Peter Fabiano took to twitter to say today, before adding “I’m thankful and will cherish the experience forever.”

He also added a special statement “ありがとうございました!ファンとしてもこれからよろしくお願いします.” Which, when Translated reads “Thank you very much! I look forward to working with you as a fan.” This should illustrate how he still feels about the company despite his departure.

Peter is not leaving the industry however, in case you were worried. Instead he will be moving over to Bungie as their Production Department Manager. Given that he chose to end the tweet by stating “Eyes up guardian.” Indicating he will be working with their popular IP Destiny.

Resident Evil Village released April 18th of this year and was developed using the RE Engine. Our review, written by Devon Rardin, stated:

Though it falls short in its attempt to unify the broader franchise’s contrasting elements, Resident Evil Village still manages to be a fun experience. The game leaning heavily on Resident Evil’s more ridiculous aspects and history does cause problems, but that’s countered by the overall experience being entertaining and diverse in atmosphere. Imperfect though the end result may be, it’s hard to argue that Village isn’t also a good time.

Though Peter’s time at Capcom has come to an end it would appear his time in the industry is still going strong. We look forward to seeing what the future might hold for him.
