Phantasy Star Online 2
is close launch in North America for Xbox One and Windows, Sega has still not confirmed an Europe release for the game. This has understandably made Europeans fans of the Phantasy Star series anxious of their possibility to play the game. Today, the game’s official Twitter account has responded to a fan of the series, he asked if the game will have region locking.
The developers confirmed that, “at this moment” there are not plans to region lock Phantasy Star Online 2. They had also confirm information for the upcoming exclusive closed beta.

The closed beta starts on February 7 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, the beta will end on February 8 at 11:59 PM PT / 2:59 PM ET. Players will have the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards during the closed beta, participants will have their progress saved for the open beta. The rewards will be given by login into the game, emblems, consumables are some of the items to be claimed.

February 7
- 8-8:30 PM PT — Cradle of Darkness
- 10-10:30 PM PT — Giant Automata: The Awakening
February 8
- 7-7:30 AM PT — Cradle of Darkness
- 1-1:30 PM PT — Giant Automata: The Awakening
- 5-5:30 PM PT — Cradle of Darkness
- 8:30-9 PM PT — The Raging Obsidian Arm
- 9-9:30 PM PT — Elder of the Unfathomable Abyss
Phantasy Star Online 2
is a free to play MMORPG based in the Phantasy Star series, it’s developed and published by Sega. The game originally launched for Windows in 2012. The game’s success was followed by a PS4 release on 2016 and a spin-off game released for iOS and Android. A Switch version released in April 2018. At E3 2019 Sega announced that it would be releasing the game outside Asia exclusively on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows in early 2020.
