Phantom Eden has started its Steam Greenlight campaing to make its way to the Steam store. The game is estimated to be released late this year. Phantom Eden is a rogue-like game with deep focus on survival mechanics, rebuilding of Eden, and a beautiful fully animated pixel art. The game features procedurally generated dungeons with handcrafted set pieces, skills based on equipment and artifacts that offer unique skills, deep survival mechanics with injuries and fatigue, and highly interactive environment.
Check out the Steam Greenlight trailer of Phantom Eden, featuring some gameplay footage:
“The game controls are modernized, you don’t need to remember the whole keyboard to play the game like is required by many of the genre’s grand daddies and mommies, but instead many of the functions are context sensitive so you can much more easily interact and experiment with skills and items.
The Eden
There is no life for you in the dungeon, there is no point trying to form a colony, because eventually the dungeon will get you. Deep beneath what is called as the Great Delve, lies a sanctuary, the Eden. A large cavern lighted by a sun stone. It is a mere legend of course, take my word, there is nothing below there, but bring those building blueprints you found anyway.
A lot of the exiles speak of weird red gems that, when buried beneath the dirt or even between the stone slabs of the floor, will open a gateway to Eden. This is a lie, of course. It is only a temptation, a cursed illusion, of Eden, a Phantom Eden.
But perhaps one will find the legend to be true, and will build a new home for those exiled by the human Dominion. Perhaps then, those who enter the Phantom Eden will… gain hope, and perhaps even some of the things we leave for them, will be reachable through the barrier of realms created by the portals and aid them in their exile through the dungeon.
The game is being developed by Detocroix Company.
