Phantom Halls Gets Massive Evil Dead 2 Update Today

Incendium announces that The Evil Dead returns to video games after a 12-year hiatus today, with the launch of the Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls update for Incendium Games’ Early Access favourite, Phantom Halls.

Check out the launch trailer of The Evil Dead update for Phantom Halls, featuring some gameplay footage:

“The officially licensed update brings an entire new mission set to the game – with environments, enemies and traps from the cult classic movie. It’s completely free for all new and existing owners of Phantom Halls, which is currently on sale at 50% off on Steam.

Phantom Halls is a procedurally generated haunted house game. A group of teenagers enters a haunted mansion and fights to stay alive. Players control up to three characters at once, each with their own attacks and special abilities, as they attempt to survive and escape the Phantom Halls.

The Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls update features a range of Evil Dead 2-themed quests, which are accessible by selecting Ash as your playable character in the character select menu. These quests come complete with new enemy types and trap encounters, including deadites, evil tree spirits, an angry necronomion, and more.

New environments and locations from Evil Dead 2 expand the grounds of the Phantom Halls mansion, including the infamous Evil Dead cabin, which has been meticulously recreated in the game’s trademark papercraft style. New gameplay mechanics include mini-boss battles – face off against the freakish Gooseneck and battle your way to an upgraded Evil Ash showdown!

Phantom Halls is available via Steam Early Access. The game, including the Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls update, will be playable at EGX in Birmingham, UK, from 21 to 24 September.

About Phantom Halls

Enter a haunted mansion and prepare to face the undead terrors that stalk the phantom halls! Squad up to survive the night using whatever you can find, but remember – you can’t kill what you can’t see, so be sure to bring a flashlight…

With fast-paced, action-packed gameplay and a 3D papercraft visual motif, Phantom Halls sees players take on the roles of multiple characters at once – with each character’s actions assigned to a different key. It’s a real-time Worms with the procedurally generated chaos of Spelunky!

Currently in Steam Early Access, the game will be updated regularly with new features and content. Incendium will work directly with the community to prioritise updates and refine the game’s direction.”
