Phil Spencer Announces Xbox’s Official Mascot

After the gameplay reveal of Halo Infinite, fans expressed their disappointment at the graphics fidelity of the game that it’s one of the showcases of Xbox Series X power. Anger turned into a mock and trolls became to make of the game a meme, Craig the Brute has now become the official Xbox mascot Phil Spencer said.

Answering the question of an Xbox fan on Twitter, the Xbox boss came out with the smartest and trolling answer expected from such a high-rank executive of Microsoft.

343 Industries’ work is unappealing, and while Halo Infinite is not an Xbox Series X exclusive, and COVID-19 has slowed down the development all across the video games industry, the showcase of the gameplay looks like a homework halfway done for some. The main problem of Craig the Brute it’s not that his face looks blurry, it’s just that his emotionless face looks so out of place in the current era of video-games.

Clearly, Phil Spencer knows that making fun of the situation is the best way to keep Xbox close to the community, while at the same time reassuring fans that their opinion is heard. For the moment, 343 Industries has acknowledged that there is still much work to be done before the launch of the game.

“Based on our learnings from Halo 4, Halo 5, and Halo Wars 2–along with strong community feedback–we decided to shift back towards the legacy aesthetics that defined the original trilogy. With Halo Infinite, we’re returning to a more ‘classic’ art style which was a key message going back to the very first reveal that garnered enthusiastic and positive responses,” … “This translates to a more vibrant palette, ‘cleaner’ models and objects with less ‘noise’, though it doesn’t mean less detail. While we appreciate this may not be everyone’s personal preference, we stand by this decision and are happy to see it resonating with so many fans around the world.”
