PlatinumGames has announced a new shoot’em up game in the spirit of 8-bit classic arcades, the game is based on Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta franchise. The new title is called Sol Cresta and it will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
Sol Cresta was teased as an April Fool’s Day joke in 2020, but PlatinumGames has now released a new trailer for the Japanese market affirming that the game is “now in development.”

For those wondering if this is an April Fool’s joke, the game has been rated by the South Korean rating board adding veracity to the official announcement of Sol Cresta. There is no release date for the game, the trailer teases that the game will launch sometime in April. For the time being, we’ll have to wait for more information from Platinum Games.
