Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a price increase of the PlayStation 5 consoles across several countries and regions. This includes Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Africa. However, this is notably only for the digital version of the PlayStation 5. The physical version of the PlayStation 5 with the disc drive will decrease in price. Sony claims that this new change is a result of “a backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates.” The updated prices are effective starting April 14. PlayStation 5 Pro prices remain unchanged.
