Another month means another set of games has been announced for PlayStation Plus. In total players will have access to three games with one being exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console, while the other two will be on the PlayStation 4 with the ability to be played through backwards compatibility on the PS5.
One of the best games to play with friends, Overcooked: All You Can Eat is stuffed with both the original Overcooked, as well as Overcooked 2. You and up to three friends team up trying to put out basic dishes while having to navigate zany kitchens. As stated on PlayStation Blog:
Enjoy hundreds of levels of cooperative cooking chaos both local and online**, across increasingly perilous and obscure kitchens. Players can enjoy campaign, survival and practice modes, and new to All You Can Eat – assist mode! The game contains features to allow as many players as possible to join in the food frenzy, with scalable UI, dyslexia friendly text and colour blindness options all available.
Online play will require PlayStation Plus, which you should have if you’re grabbing this. If you and your friends have yet to join the feeding frenzy yet, now is definitely the time.
Coming out of the trend started with games like Dead By Daylight, a lot of franchises have adapted to video games by offering 1v4 multiplayer gameplay. Basically, one player takes on the role of the Predator while four other play soldiers trying to survive. As stated on PlayStation Blog:
As part of a four-person Fireteam, complete challenging missions before the Predator finds you Or be the Predator and hunt your prey, using deadly alien weaponry – such as the shoulder-mounted Plasma Caster, Combistick and more – to stalk your prey. Learn different classes and styles of play no matter what side you choose.
Similar to Overcooked! this is a great game for you and a few friends to pick up if you’re looking for something new and multiplayer to try out. Again, it will require PlayStation Plus to play.
Hop back into the shoes of Agent 47 and stalk the globe, hunting your targets down and ending them with every skill at your disposal. Hitman 2 is a fun stealth action game where the player is given multiple ways to complete objectives, offering plenty of replayability for a single-player game. As PlayStation Blog states:
Prepare to experience the ultimate spy thriller story your mission is to eliminate the elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia, but when 47 learns his target’s true identity and the truth about his past, it changes everything. Hitman 2 introduces new ways to play, new game modes and new features, including the new Sniper Assassin mode with franchise first co-op play**.
It is the only game on the list that is single-player, and if you haven’t played it yet it is definitely a fun experience.
If you have not added last month’s games to your library yet you have until August 6th, a Monday, to do so. These games include Hunter’s Arena: Legends, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and Tennis World Tour 2. You can check out my review for Hunter’s Arena: Legends here.
