s’ Head, Hermen Hulst stated that Sony Interactive Entertainment is working on several titles for the PlayStation 5. The executive said that “There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions.”
Reportedly, 25 games are in development at PlayStation Studios, Hulst says that projects are big, small, and from different genres. Nearly half of all titles are new IPs.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan reportedly commented on the supply of new PS5 consoles in the following months.
“We’re working as hard as we can to ameliorate that situation,” Ryan says on a Zoom call, “We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period.”
In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Hermen Hulst spoke of the new titles in development.
“I think that the games that we make are as distinct and diverse as they can be,” he said. “I am very interested in creating a diverse slate of titles. Actually, the shape or form that they come in are less interesting to me than the fact that they are differentiated, diverse, and distinctive.

PlayStation Studios has been beefed up by Firewalk Studios and Jade Raymond’s Haven. PlayStation users can expect a huge catalog of games for the console in the years ahead.
