According to a recent report from The Shortcut supported by its own retailer data, PSVR2 sales have skyrocketed by 2,350% in over 24 hours. This followed Amazon’s recent $200 off sale for the headset. It’s worth noting the device’s original price is $550 so this is a significant price cut. Additionally, according to the site, the sales made on Sunday were more than the total headset’s sales made in the first seven months of 2024. The headset saw a reduction in price on Best Buy as well but it quickly sold out on Amazon. The PlayStation VR2 first launched in February 2023. Several players believe the headset is overpriced and as a result, the device has seen low sales numbers since. Sony recently released the application page for the PlayStation VR2 on Steam. The platform will officially launch natively with full support on Steam on August 6. According to the headset’s page, players will be able to play VR games and apps on Steam using their PlayStation VR2 headset and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
