Pokémon Sun and Moon Japanese Overview Trailer & TV Commercials

New TV spots for Pokémon Sun and Moon have been released in Japan.

Already confirmed as the most pre-ordered game in Nintendo’s history, the latest entry in the long-running monster-catching series certainly isn’t short on hype, but this trio of commercials could potentially remind less savvy Japanese fans that it’s on its way.

The day that Sun and Moon was revealed was also Pokémon’s official 20 th birthday. Six generations, scores of games and 722 breeds have come and gone over the course of one of Nintendo’s most successful properties. This year celebrated Pokémon’s success, starting with the Virtual Console release of Red, Blue and Yellow and continuing with the fascinating Pokkén Tournament, a Wii U beat ‘em up from the makers of Tekken. While Pokémon Go, an augmented reality smartphone app that allows players to capture Pokémon in the real world before pitting them against other players has become a global phenomenon.

Check out the Videos:

“The game will take place in a brand new area known as Alola (above), which has a real Hawaiian vibe about it, but the creators also say it’s inspired by the Galapagos Islands. It’s made up of four islands plus one man-made island and each one has unique Pokémon to discover, along with its own Pokédex.

There’s also a dynamic day and night cycle, which harks back to the innovations made in Pokemon Gold and Silver.
Alola is also teeming with life, so it’s a good thing your Pokedex has additional information when you catch a Pokemon. Sometimes there will be a white Pokeball next to your captured new friend, indicating that there’s an evolution or maybe a related Pokemon to be found in Alola.”
