Pokken Tournament Arcade to reveal new playable Pokemon on July 14

On July 20th, the Arcade version of Pokkén Tournament will receive a major update adding Garchomp, Braixen, Shadow Mewtwo… but also a new, mysterious playable Pokémon. This new Pokémon will be revealed on July 14th, on a NicoNico livestream. Unfortunately, we don’t know if/when this new playable Pokémon will be added to the console version of Pokkén Tournament. References to Scizor, Darkrai, and Empoleon were spotted in the latest update, but that doesn’t necessarily confirm that one of these three will be announced.

It’s possible even more characters could be added to the console release. Harada has stated in the past that obviously not every Pokemon character will be playable in the game. There’s like over 700 different Pokemon now.

Check out the Screenshot:

“Pokken Tournament , which is a mash-up of Pokemon and Tekken, lets players control Pokemon’s movements for the first time in a fighting game that has gained a lot of momentum and popularity since its release in March.

The Pokemon National Championships have Pokken Tournament as one of the game divisions, further cementing the Pokemon Company’s attempt to make it a third tier in Pokemon alongside the video games and trading card game.”
