Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
was scheduled to be available in March 2021, however, the game has been delayed and the development team has not given a potential release window.
Announced on Twitter the development team can only promise to release the highly-anticipated game at “a later date.”
Since announcing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September [2020], we saw an outpouring of feedback from you on this beloved franchise. It is your passion and support that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date. This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.
We understand the update might come as a surprise and we will continue to keep you posted on the progress of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In the meantime, we want to thank you all for your ongoing support.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was delayed in December 2020,
Ubisoft confirmed that due to the COVID-19 a delay was inevitable.
Xbox boss, Phil Spencer has explained why game development will see the impact of COVID-19 in 2021, the executive affirms that remote work causes a major setback for the industry as there are “big limitations on what can be done from home”. Spencer uses MOCAP as an example.
“Mocap is just something that’s basically stopped. We’re not going into mocap studios,” Spencer told Business Insider. “If you had all your animation captured and you’re doing touch up in more individual art production and in areas like textures and other things, you’re in a better position.

is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
