Speaking with DR, IO Interactive’s Hans Abrak suggested that the upcoming Project 007 could end up being a trilogy.
We have been allowed to make our own digital Bond, which will not lean on a Bond actor. We also come up with a completely original story, and you could easily imagine that a trilogy could come out of it, says IO Interactive’s director, Hakan Abrak.
In November last year, the Danish gaming company IO Interactive announced that it had won the rights to make James Bond games
. According to the developer, the new game will explore James Bond’s origins.
IO Interactive is a large development team that recently became independent after Square Enix sold its assets on the Danish developer. Thanks to the background with the Hitman franchise, the studio was contacted by the Broccoli family, the owners of the James Bond franchise.
The successful meeting in London was a major turning point for IO Interactive in terms of obtaining the rights to the James Bond license. Because once the Broccoli family was convinced, it was a formality to also convince the film company MGM.

Project 007 (working title) is a brand new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IO Interactive. Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into
the shoes of the world’s favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.
Following IO’s agreement with MGM and EON Productions, the Danish video games company wants to hire 200 employees over the next few years.
Project 007 is now in development for modern systems and platforms. A release window has yet to be confirmed.
