Earlier this year a large info drop of new IPs could possibly be showcased during the then-upcoming Xbox E3 showcase. A few of the leaks did make appearances such as project typhoon, announced as Contraband, and Project Omen announced as Redfall. Project Dragon, which was the earliest new IP in development suggested that it MIGHT be seen, but of them all, it was always assumed to be the least likely.
According to Jez Corden of Windows Central, and one of the major leakers in the earlier information, the game is intended to last 10 years. This will be sustained through constant content drops and add-ons being released for the game through the years. While there is no way of knowing if they will actually hit that number, this would not be the first game to announce such a plan. Similarly, Xbox exclusive Halo Infinite has also been stated to have a ten-year plan post-launch.
Project Dragon is an ambitious AAA multiplayer game set in a medieval fantasy setting. Early reports about the game have claimed the game is intended to be similar to MMO style games set in a large open world. Outside of these tidbits of information, not much else is known about the game.
IO Interactive also announced a new studio earlier this year, based out of Barcelona. This studio has been suggested to be the studio that will be developing Project Dragon. The other two IO studios, based out of Copenhagen and Malmo, are working on Hitman and Project 007 respectively.
